I happened to be swinging through and wanted to offer my services in sprucing up the main page. If you're interested, I can flesh it out a little more, including putting content on the right side ;) I generally attempt to stick with the theme already present.
Hey just a heads up. I added the snow for the holidays to the wiki - let me know what you think.
Also I modified the Create New Page to have Bundle and Blank - instead of default layout (which no page really uses on this wiki).
The Bundle pre-populates the template and sections and marks it as a stub by default. It should make it much faster to create bundles.
i think i saw the snow yesterday, i thought it was fun and didn't distract from what i was trying to read.
the layout on that tardis page is broken for me but i was able to select a template and see in pull in to the edit box and that definitely looks handy. not something i know how to do with mediawiki but if you do then go for it :) it should save us from forgetting to change something when copy-pasting.
I made a Indie_Game_Bundle_Wiki:To-Do_List page based on other wikis and have added some customization specific to this wiki. It provides links to things to do if you are bored! :) Please feel free to update.
So you had undone some changes a person made a couple days ago for groupees build a greenlight bundle. Specifically you set it back to LSL Reloaded instead of "Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of The Lounge Lizards - 1991 VGA Remake". If you go to groupees page - the 1991 remake is the correct version http://groupees.com/bagb The reloaded version was not the one included with groupees. According to wikipedia the reloaded version is a new version that was made in 2013.
i hadn't seen that thread or bought the bundle, so i went based on them linking to the greenlight page which is the reloaded version. it seems intentionally misleading to include a game in a greenlight bundle that's not actually the version that's on greenlight.
thanks for clearing it up. i've deleted the reloaded page since it hasn't actually been in a bundle after all, and updated the greenlight bundle page to explain that it's not actually the game that was on greenlight. i'd be pretty upset if i'd actually bought that bundle like i'd considered doing!
Yeah I agree, when I saw the change I went to the groupees page to check whether it was accurate. I remembered hearing that it wasn't the reloaded version back when I bought the bundle.
So to defend groupees a little, this game was added as a bonus along with a couple betas and other stuff. Only the main games that you buy individually are guaranteed to be part of the greenlight thing, the bonuses are just that, extras. It was confusing that some of the bonuses were on greenlight (like La Mulana - which ended up getting a steam key) and others like the betas were not - LSL was included with Fester Mudd (who's author made LSL original) as one bonus and they said it was VGA version. I looked back on reddit - it was clear to them that it was the 1991 VGA version.
i noticed that too. it's probably a better icon since minecraft isn't exactly a bundle game, but it doesn't go with the green theme we're using. if you look at file history at File:Favicon.ico it shows that Alexanderswang changed it without any comment. so there's the who, but you'll need to ask him about the why.
it has "mac version" and "pc version" download links, but they're just zipped rtf files telling you how to sign up for steam. they actually did the same thing for be mine 2, though for that one it now says "pc/mac steam key only" but still shows the drm-free icon. i saw someone complaining that they had bought the bundle of the undead just for drm-free madballs when i was trying to figure out which dlcs it came with, otherwise i would have assumed the links were actually drm-free downloads.
Just a head's up, when I added Indie Gala Summer Dream which has two more Creatures titles that have the cross-wiki problem I renamed the Albian years link in both the Indie Gala June page and on the Current Bundles to Creatures - The Albian Years so that the three Creatures titles will look more like they would with a colon and since we can't show alternate text on the Current_Bundles page. (The new page you just created wasn't being linked to - so I just renamed the page to use a dash)
thanks! i thought i had put in a dash but i guess i lost track of it in my frustration of actually trying to get a link to creatures: the albian years. there's got to be some way around the interwiki but i couldn't find it...
